About My Journey
My journey into the world of nutrition began long before I became a Functional Nutritionist. It started with a personal realization — understanding how deeply our health influences not only our confidence, but also the way the world responds to us. I experienced firsthand how body shape and health challenges can affect one’s self esteem, social interactions, and emotional wellbeing.
In the beginning, like many people, I believed dieting meant staying hungry, giving up all my favourite foods, and living in “survival mode.” So instead of seeking guidance, I joined the gym, hoping exercise alone would solve everything.
Growing up in Gujarat, food is a big part of life. From school canteen snacks like patties, samosas, and cold drinks to traditional favourites like Maska Bun, Gathiya, Fafda Jalebi, Sindhi Pakwan, and evening treats like Vada Pav, Pav Bhaji, Ice Gola, Ice Cream — food was comfort, culture, and habit. Balancing gym workouts with these long loved food patterns was difficult, and instead of losing weight, I began gaining inches.
After marriage, I moved into a Punjabi family and expected even richer food habits. Surprisingly, the lifestyle was simple — home cooked meals, minimal outside food, and balanced routines. Within a few months, I lost some weight naturally, but I dismissed it as coincidence. Life moved on, and soon pregnancy brought hormonal changes and additional weight gain.
The turning point came when I could no longer fit into my old clothes. It was more than physical discomfort — it was emotional. I felt the frustration, the disappointment, and the silent comparisons from others.
I pushed myself harder. I walked 2 km… then 4 km… 6 km… eventually 10 km. I returned to the gym with even more determination, driven by the desire to prove myself to those who judged, compared, or offered unsolicited advice.
But in that process, I injured my back (L3–L4). Six months of complete bed rest followed, along with a strict instruction from the doctor to avoid weight training.
Those six months changed everything.
Confined to bed. Instead of being dependent, I enrolled for Diploma in Nutrition along with my Post graduation. I began reading and learning about nutrition. Understanding not only food but extent my learning in bodies autonomy functions which helps not only to reduce or gain weight, but also to overcome health issues which is true transformation.
What started as curiosity slowly became passion. That was the beginning of my nutrition journey.
Today, Seven years later, the learning continues — but now, I walk this path with you.
I understand the struggles you face because I have lived them. I understand the emotional challenges, the physical discomfort, the frustration of slow progress, and the pressure of expectations.
Every day brings a new challenge — and I welcome it with an open heart.
Because today, I’m not just living my journey… I’m helping you live yours.
What makes me different from another nutritionist that I understand struggle you are facing because I have lived them.
